“HLE” is a bit of a joke term, (or possible tongue in cheek could be a better label) coined in our Network Marketing Group - it stands for "Hens Lay Eggs" and is a take on the exponential growth theory - recruit two people, who recruit two, etc, and in six weeks you'll have 50,000 people sending you $250,000 - the false promise of MLM.

The MLM exponential growth chart makes sense mathematically but is flawed. Unfortunately the ordinary person can't see the flaw, so buy into it, and you get your 95% of people who do MLM and can't make it work. We all know the story. The logic is the same as "Zeno's arrow", based on an ancient greek philosopher and mathematician who preceeds Archimedes and Pythagoras. Or in the famous “missing pound” logic problem. More on these later. But here is the HLE analogy explained: A hen lays six eggs. If the chicks grow up to be hens they also lay eggs and the hen becomes a “grandmother”. There is no guarantee that all 6 chicks will lay 6 eggs, etc. Also there's nothing to stop the hen laying another batch of eggs, maybe six, maybe 5 or 8. It's not set or guaranteed. Also there is no guarantee that the eggs will hatch into chicks – “don’t count your chickens before they hatch” after all.

In this sense, an egg is a prospect, a chick is an affiliate who has signed up. Whether that chick now grows into a hen and lays their own eggs is the next issue. And a lot of that is down to how you – the mentor – or “Mother Hen” – help them develop in their early days, months, even years. So it is with network marketing, MLM, EMM - whatever you want to call it - we call it "HLE". As Shakespeare said "a rose by any other name will still give you hay fever", or to quote Bruce Lee "it's just a name don't fuss over it" The same goes for EMM - Exact Method Marketing - the McDonalds formula example (more on that later).

Saturation? No such thing!

The discussion over whether affiliate programs can get saturated pops up from time to time at forums.

Those of us who do well at this business say there is no such thing - saturation is just a myth.

The people who believe in "saturation" are believing in a myth - something that doesn't exist - and they are usually talking about a program that they are not in - and really know nothing about. Guesswork and speculation.

It's called "perceptual stereotyping" - they decide this "saturation" thing is true and THEN go looking for ways to "prove" it so they can believe in it. The reason for the "saturation" myth is something I explained at another forum thread - people expect "the program" or "the company" to recruit and sell for them and blame the fact that there are a lot of other people in that company or the fact that the company has been around a while as the reason they fail. They don't want to take responsibility for either their successes or their failures.

I see this with SFI all the time:"SFI is saturated""It has 9 million affiliates so you will never recruit anyone or get any customers" Well this is complete nonsense!

Build your own list, find your own customers. It doesn't matter if there are other people in that company selling those products or even in another company selling a different brand of the same products. Find people who aren't already in a Home Business looking for one and find people who aren't already buying those products who are looking to buy.

One guy at a forum asked me about selling "SFI products", specifically the wellness products. Despite having a President's Club member as his mentor he claimed he couldn't sell "SFI products".This was a guy who as already selling wellness products to a customer base.

My advice was simple - sell the "Veriuni" products, as you would in any form of network marketing. Forget the "SFI" bit and all the other "SFI ads" you see.Find your own customers and sell them the products. Do your own advertising and marketing.

No - there is NO SUCH THING as saturation in an affiliate program - it's just an excuse the famous "95%" give for their failures.

You must invest in yourself to make money online.

The reason that many people fail to make any money online, has to do with their unwillingness to invest in themselves. You can invest in your business all you want in terms of time and money. More on these later. But here is the HLE analogy explained: A hen lays six eggs. If the chicks grow up to be hens they also lay eggs and the hen becomes a “grandmother”. There is no guarantee that all 6 chicks will lay 6 eggs, etc. Also there's nothing to stop the hen laying another batch of eggs, maybe six, maybe 5 or 8. It's not set or guaranteed. Also there is no guarantee that the eggs will hatch into chicks – “don’t count your chickens before they hatch” after all.

In this sense, an egg is a prospect, a chick is an affiliate who has signed up. Whether that chick now grows into a hen and lays their own eggs is the next issue. And a lot of that is down to how you – the mentor – or “Mother Hen” – help them develop in their early days, months, even years. So it is with network marketing, MLM, EMM - whatever you want to call it - we call it "HLE". As Shakespeare said "a rose by any other name will still give you hay fever", or to quote Bruce Lee "it's just a name don't fuss over it" The same goes for EMM - Exact Method Marketing - the McDonalds formula example (more on that later).

Saturation? No such thing!

The discussion over whether affiliate programs can get saturated pops up from time to time at forums.

Those of us who do well at this business say there is no such thing - saturation is just a myth.

The people who believe in "saturation" are believing in a myth - something that doesn't exist - and they are usually talking about a program that they are not in - and really know nothing about. Guesswork and speculation.

It's called "perceptual stereotyping" - they decide this "saturation" thing is true and THEN go looking for ways to "prove" it so they can believe in it. The reason for the "saturation" myth is something I explained at another forum thread - people expect "the program" or "the company" to recruit and sell for them and blame the fact that there are a lot of other people in that company or the fact that the company has been around a while as the reason they fail. They don't want to take responsibility for either their successes or their failures.

I see this with SFI all the time:"SFI is saturated""It has 9 million affiliates so you will never recruit anyone or get any customers" Well this is complete nonsense!

Build your own list, find your own customers. It doesn't matter if there are other people in that company selling those products or even in another company selling a different brand of the same products. Find people who aren't already in a Home Business looking for one and find people who aren't already buying those products who are looking to buy.

One guy at a forum asked me about selling "SFI products", specifically the wellness products. Despite having a President's Club member as his mentor he claimed he couldn't sell "SFI products".This was a guy who as already selling wellness products to a customer base.

My advice was simple - sell the "Veriuni" products, as you would in any form of network marketing. Forget the "SFI" bit and all the other "SFI ads" you see.Find your own customers and sell them the products. Do your own advertising and marketing.

No - there is NO SUCH THING as saturation in an affiliate program - it's just an excuse the famous "95%" give for their failures.

Free class ads work?!

Free class ads work?!

Anybody who says otherwise is wrong. I know because I used them extensively and built a big team and also work with several people who did the same.

People on my team have been recruiting using Free Class Ads just this week. They have also been using FFAs, Safelists and Traffic Exchanges. A friend of mine brings in signups EVERY day just using FFAs - which lots of people "want" to think do not work.

We have a GL at SFI called Johan who has written the now legandary "A Small Guide to Free Advertising". You have to spend time rather than money but they do produce results. No-one can say a method doesn't work if it works for other people. They can only say that it hasn't worked for them. If a method isn't working for you, the proper approach is not to come to a forum to let the world know - that is just advertising your own failures.

What you should do is search for posts by successful people and/or ask questions to find out how to correct your methods to duplicate that success. Don't let ANYBODY tell you that ANY method "does not work" - seek out the people who have made it work and ask them how. I always say you can't argue with facts and proven results.

There are way too many people who rely on theory, opinion and guesswork, what they THINK will work and what they THINK won't. On one forum we had a member post "free class ads don't work. Don't waste your time" To which I was able to reply that they do work, as I have recruited affiliates from them. (Many other people also said the same) This person's direct reply to me was "I meant they didn't work FOR ME". Well, I replied, "that wasn't what you said was it?" "free class ads don't work" is a statement" "don't waste your time" is an instruction, advice to people not to use them. False information and bad advice. In a subsequent post this same person said that "followups do not work!" And the same comment "you're wasting your time" And when I pulled him up on it you know what he said? "I meant they don't work FOR ME" Of course I have examples of situations when I have an inactive affiliate, I sent them a followup letter, and they upgraded. Proof of the pudding and all that. They also work for sales as you can build rather large list.
